Competition Summary

Welcome to Weekend Warrior Racing

Racing is on a individual basis, no Team management required – simple quick sign up via the Companion App and you can even register to be part of the results after you race to keep any barrier to entry very low.

What is the Series aim ?
Provide organised well run events that keep us engaged, challenged and riding without demanding all of your time. An Order of Merit (OoM) will run throughout the Series across FIVE groups – your best 7 scoring events (events are a total of the 3 races) counted.

Your OoM Group will always be defined by your last racing Pen and can change as you change.

Why is this important ? – Places means Prizes with the Top 10 inline for Prizes (IRL) so long as you are an FRR Subscriber/Donator.

How do the Events work & Score ?

Each event is set over Friday to Sunday and will offer 5 racing Pens split by Max 30 day ZRS value. Events are openly available on the Companion App to sign up and just race if thats all you want to do.

  • Friday – Always iTT – 9 Race Times – Riders times are ranked by Pen across all times
    • Finish points won by Pen across all times

    • Base* Race Times (UK) : 0600 – 1000 – 1300 – 1600 – 1800

ZRS Pen Groups

  • Pen A – 725+
  • Pen B – 525-725
  • Pen C – 375-525
  • Pen D – 250-375
  • Pen E – 250 & below

What happens when my ZRS changes ?

ZRS will restrict your PEN options if your ZRS moves you to a new level (up or down) then you may need to reselect your race Pen.

What are the Rider Requirements to race ?

As the events are fully Public we have set a few platform restrictions to help base line the riders, simple requirements that all good Zwifters should be able to meet:

  • No ZPower riders – approximate power is not so good so these setups are excluded from entry
  • Smart Trainer connected – base connected device to judge power, which includes power meter pedals
  • HRM connected – these can fail we know but in a Public space we are setting the bar a little higher as it isn’t the end of the world if your device fails – just get it fixed and race again next time
  • Trainer Difficulty – setting of min 40% for all races just so you are aware
  • Bike Frame set – events set a riders bike frame (standard non upgraded for all riders) –  you may choose your wheel set
  • No Steering and No Power ups – we just prefer simple racing and a level racing field where we can

Just Race is all you have to do – Register if you are interested in being part of the Results and Subscribe/Donate if you want a chance of grabbing a prize for efforts at the end of the Season

Rider Classification
Zwift 30 day MAX ZRS is used to give riders racing pen options for the Mixed Racing events, where you race is where you earn your points.

Race Respect
We all race for fun however we have all come across riders who ride on the dark side or don’t read the rules of the competition. We ask all riders to manage these situations with respect by following these simple rules when in events.

  • When in race, riders should refrain from calling out riders either openly or privately
  • Riders can submit rider challenges direct to RACE CONTROL via email or direct message on the FRR Discord server – Never do this openly and be assured that Race Control will review every request in the pursuit of fun, fair racing for everyone

All riders must meet the minimum requirements for accounts and equipment:

  • Riders must be OPTED IN to share their race data with ZwiftPower from their Zwift Profile Connections
  • Riders must have created and connected a ZwiftPower account
  • Riders must have an FRR account
  • Riders must be registered for the Series

iTT Races – Scoring

Riders times are ranked by Pen across all times for the day, the fastest rider per group scores the most points, everyone will at least earn 1 point.

POINTS Races – Scoring
All riders earn points from their overall race finish position in their race and pen PLUS points from each segment on the course ranked by a riders FASTEST TIME through a segment – regardless of how many times a race may pass through the same segment.

Riders are then ranked for League points based on the total number of points scored.

SCRATCH Races – Scoring
All riders earn finish points from their overall race finish position in their race and pen, no segments are in play.

LEAGUE (Order of Merit) – Scoring
An event consists of three races Friday to Sunday where your first completed event will count.

Each race you can earn points as outlined above within the ZRS group you race. If you change group either by choice or forced then your last ZRS group raced will define your current League.

Each race converts to a max 100 points to ensure all races have the same points available.

We will rank riders by the total race points won (most to least max 300) from however many races you complete and by each ZRS group to allocate LEAGUE points for the event.

A riders best SEVEN scoring League point events will count in the Order of Merit (League Tables).

VADA Rider Checks
During events riders will produce high performance, it is the responsibility of Race Control to monitor performance and look to maintain a fair racing position across all classes – as this is not just applicable to the highest most powerful riders. We do take this responsibility seriously, we get that we all do this for fun but that doesn’t mean we accept riders who choose the dark side of virtual racing.

Verification will be performed by the FRR vada (FRR Virtual anti doping agency) formed from experienced trusted riders from within the Zwift community who compete and contribute to FRR events.

FRR vada will recommend one of three options to Race Control:

  • No action required
  • Time sanction
  • Event removal/ban

All information submitted will remain confidential and Race Controls decision will be final.
Verification can take place at any point and the process is as follows:

  1. Race Control contacts riders and Team Manager via email/Discord privately
  2. Riders MAY BE requested to provide:
    • Height and weight video to verify their BIO details
    • Zwift setup video including smart trainer, pedals etc..
    • Strava and Zwift accounts if private must be granted access to Race Control and .fit files made available for requested events
    • Rider may be asked to give their consent to Zwift via email, which Race Control has started, to allow Zwift to confirm to Race Control the Smart Trainer used for the Tour events in question
    • Rider photo ID may be requested to further assure the person in a submitted video is the rider with the request
  3. Riders will be given a suitable amount of time (normally 24 hrs) to review and provide the information requested.
  4. Riders who fail to cooperate within the time set will have time penalties applied to remove any impact on fellow riders (since we have no ability to prevent a rider from competing) and post Tour excluded from entering future events. We equally notify Zwift.
  5. FRR Jersey holders will have those Jerseys removed
