Top 10 Event Must Knows
Welcome Email
Our events are a little different, you know that or you wouldn’t be reading this message – each registration riders will receive the welcome to the event email and within it we list out 10 Event Must knows to smooth the learning curve for new riders, it will not answer all questions but it will reduce the initial uncertainty of what happens next!Â
However, just in case email servers fail us below we have set out what is in the email.
Â
- Teams are registered across 4 Conferences (also referred to as Regions) APAC, EUROPE, US EAST, US WEST.
Each Conference has 5 Leagues (Alpha-Beta-Gamma-Delta-Epsilon) and racing is mixed gender. - Each League is restricted by vELO rating which riders build by racing ZRS rated events (you’ll need a minimum of 3 completed which helps shape your rating). Once a rider’s vELO rating exceeds the League limit then the rider can only be selected for the League up or higher.
- Teams consist of 5 riders who share 6IX roles – 2 Sprinters (SP), 2 Climbers (CL), 1 GC Rider (GC) and 1 Wildcard – Teams have unlimited rosters and riders can ride for any Team each week and perform any role each race thats all down to your own tactics.
- 6IX race formats are POINTS, SCRATCH and Team ITT. Roles come into play in points races and in scratch (but only the Wildcard role). Besure to read the rules to understand how each of these race formats works to enable Team success.
- Wildcard riders are set a challenge in Points and Scratch races, which all other riders can try and affect – for instance be in the Top 5 First over the line in a Sprint.. If the Wildcard completes the challenge they earn their Team a League point so it has a high ask and high reward.
- Team managers need to update and select their Teams each week from Monday, vELO ratings will be updated Sunday night. If a rider is available at this point then they are good to go for selection as we have to provide a point by which a rider is eligible even though vELO can change every day.
- Races require riders to join specific PENs defined by their Teams League – Pen titles use these names – all Pen’s are separate so you will not have a mass start with the other riders it’s just your League head to head.
- Events RACE PASSES are PRIVATE – we control the availability of them from within your Profile, just click your name and go to the section titled My Teams you will see a Teamsheet when selected and on the Teamsheet the RACE PASSÂ link will appear on Wednesday midday(UK) each week
- In race we ask riders to add their role code (SP/CL/GC) to their Zwift Companion Lastname, this allows fellow competitors who their competition is for the race. Wildcards ..well let’s keep that a surprise for the everyone!
- What can you win, well overall aim of the Series is for your Team to qualify for the end of season playoffs and then World Final to crown themselves World 6IX Champions and earn themselves some great exclusive merchandise which we are putting together.
Â
If you still have questions then Email Race Control or post on Discord which is our day to day support hot line – we answer every message and email to support you all the way.

Welcome to Super 6IX Team Racing
Teams consist of FIVE riders, each having a specific role to play each race with one rider nominated as the Wildcard rider to make the 6th element of the racing format.
Series racing is organised across TWO Conferences NS and EW covering FOUR geographic regions. Each region there can be up to FIVE Leagues and each League can have a number of Divisions – all depending on sign up.
Race times will be 1830 to 1930 local time, aligned as follows:

Based on current numbers and participation level:
- Dates and Times of the Playoffs & Finals are as per the schedule

Playoffs
The number of Teams to qualify for a Final from a Playoff will be determined after Race 5 (depends on continued participation), however in general if a League Final has 12 Teams and 7 have already qualified then the Playoff will award the top 5 finishing Teams in the Playoff a final place.
Finals
Each League Final will be a POINTS based race with ALL FIVE rider scores to count.
A Teams total score will be the sum of each riders points scored plus the sum of a Teams Wild segment points.
Teams will be ranked based on their total score from most to least number of numbers. Where ties exist the highest total of wild segment points will determine the position.
How will the League Races work ?
The Series consists of three rounds of 5 races, at the end of each round the top 3 Teams will be promoted and the bottom 3 teams relegated where more than one Division exists. The Series uses 3 race formats:
- SCRATCH – Teams will be ranked by their combined finish position, best 3 finishers count. Resulting will rank teams in order of Team participants (ie. Teams with 3 scoring riders will rank higher than Teams who only field 2 riders etc..) – to earn Team League points Teams must have at least 1 finisher. Roles are not relevant.
- Combined ITT – Teams will be ranked by the combined finish time of the first 3 riders to finish the course. Resulting will rank teams in order of Team participants (ie. Teams with 3 riders will rank higher than Teams who only field 2 riders etc..) – to earn Team League points Teams must have at least 1 finisher. Roles are not relevant.
- POINTS – Teams will be ranked by the total number of rider points scored, best 3 scoring Team riders will be counted – to earn Team League points Teams must have at least 1 finisher, roles are in play
What are the rider Roles and who decides them each race ?
First, roles are in play for POINTS races only. Each race the Team Manager will allocate riders their role, considering the course and the riders available – roles can be changed each race. We have four roles as explained below:
- GC Rider – 1 rider per team who will earn finishing points against all other GC riders only, plus finishing points when considering all riders in the race together. Teams must select a GC rider as part of the Team.
- Climber – 2 riders per team who will earn win climbing points against all other Climbers only, plus finishing points against fellow Climbers
- Sprinter – 2 riders per team who will earn win sprinting points against all other Sprinters only, plus finishing points against fellow Sprinters
- Wildcard – 1 rider per team will be allocated the Wildcard Challenge (WCC), as detailed by the 6IX. Schedule page
- Complete the Challenge and Teams will earn a bonus League Points which could make al the difference at the end of the season when considering the top 5* teams qualifying for the Playoffs.
- Wildcards are used in the Playoffs and the World Final – for these Teams will earn an extra Team point which are used to rank each Team in those finals.
- Wild segment comes into play for the Playoffs and Final
- All riders in play
- First over the line – Top 10 to count
- Team points won – 1st = 10 points – 10th = 1 point
- Wildcard rider earns 5 extra points for placing in Top 10
What happens at the end of each Round and the Series ?
The top 3 teams of each division will be promoted and the bottom 3 relegated. Leagues will persist so where you finish at the end of round three is where you start in the next Series.
In the event of a tie on Team points rank will be determined by:
- Total Finish
- Total Segment
- Climb Total
- Sprint Total
Classification - Rider
- Rider Classification
To grade a rider we will use a riders Zwiftracing app OPEN Max 30 day vELO rating value for Mixed Racingwhich is recognised as an accepted indicator of performance.
Upgrade Limits
6IX runs from October to the World Finals in March, vELO scores will rise and fall in this period. The upgrade limits shown below allow upgraded riders to remain racing in a League as long as their vELO rating does not exceed the upgrade limit shown. Once a rider becomes too powerful for a League they will nolonger be selectable.
Playoff – World Final – Eligibility
To ride in a Playoff a rider must:
- be eligible for that League by vELO Rating as at the end of Round 3 Race 5
- veLo is saved from FEBRUARY 15TH
- have raced for ANY Team at least TWICE (all rounds counted) prior to the Playoff date
- best 3 riders to count
- All riders who competed in a Playoff will be eligible for Finals at the same or higher level
- Riders must be eligible for that League by vELO Rating as at the end of Round 3 Race 5
- vELO is saved from FEBRUARY 15TH
- have raced for SELECTED Team at least TWICE (all rounds counted) prior to the Playoff date
- 5 riders required all to count
- IF Teams cannot field enough riders from the criteria then contact Race Control with proposed names which must at least Satisfy the min race requirement
The above looks to ensure Teams have the leeway to select riders given movement in vELO, that riders are for those Leagues and that Teams cannot use late ringers.
If Team Managers have any questions or doubts then always contact Race Control for a balanced view on fairness to protect the integrity of the racing.

- Bike frames will be allocated for all riders (Zwift AERO/TT) – upgrades will be neutralised (sorry), riders may choose their own wheelset
- Dual recording is not mandatory however experienced riders understand the benefit and equally the pitfalls
- All riders must use a Smart Trainer as their Primary Power Source in the Alpha League
Race Etiquette
Race Respect
We all race for fun however we have all come across riders who ride on the dark side or don’t read the rules of the competition. We ask all riders to manage these situations with respect by following these simple rules when in events.
- When in PEN you can remind riders of the rules on showing their role code or where they should be, a simple edit will fix very quickly but bear in mind some riders do not show the messages or use Companion App or perhaps understand your language
- When in race, riders should refrain from calling out riders either openly or privately as ‘resulting’ will highlight them to race control and PEN Penalties can be applied as per the rules
- Riders can submit rider challenges direct to RACE CONTROL via email or direct message on the FRR Discord server – Never do this openly and be assured that Race Control will review every request in the pursuit of fun, fair racing for everyone
Race Pass
Race Pass Access
Within a riders Profile is a section titled MY TEAMSÂ
Team cards will show when a rider has completed their weekly Race Verification submission, refer to the section in your Profile which explains the purpose and intention of the submission.
TEAM CARDs will show all selected riders and the race pass link. When the pass opens riders must ensure they select the right PEN for their Team, racing in the wrong PEN will earn you ZERO points.
The Team card tells you which PEN to choose which aligns to your Team League.

Team Management & Registration
Team Registration
All FRR account holders will be able to create and manage Teams. Team Registration is OPEN.
Management is a 2 step process.
- Step 1 – Register a Team and decide the region and level of competition
- Step 2 – Manage selection when the series starts take your team to glory!
Team Rosters are unlimited to ensure there is complete flexibility to ensure Teams have a full set of riders each race.
Team Management
Team managers have a great deal of responsibility to coordinate riders, select teams etc… the success of the Team and the event relies on Team managers so we must ensure we keep things simple, intuitive and support you all the way, to help…
- All riders who have created a Team will become Club Team Managers
- All Club Team Managers will be able to edit all Teams within their Club only
It is the responsibility of the manager to form Teams correctly:
- Each Team must have an appropriate name
- For a rider to be selected for a Team their FRR PROFILE RACING CLUB must match the CLUBof the Team Manager
- Riders may only be selected for ONE Team for each race, but can race for other Teams during the Series
- Managers will need to deselect riders from Teams to release them for selection for another Team or Club – contact Race Control if you need admin assistance
Team Selection Timetable
- Wednesday Team selection can start (0800UTC). Teams are amendable up to Friday race time.
- Riders complete their weekly Race Verification attestation
- Thursday Race passes available for race verified riders
- Friday race day and Teams lock at race time
- Weekend Resulting and reviews
- Monday all riders are released from their Teams to allow vELO ratings to move ahead of selection and we head back towards Wednesday
FridayAfter each race Team selections will be reset (Monday), this unlocks riders for all Teams and equally allows vELO ratings to be checked before selection can occur for the next Race.
Race Selection will begin each Wednesday for Team Managers, to allow a riders vELO rating to develop from other racing events.
For New Club creation FRR account holders must first contact RACE CONTROL by email so initial setup can be done.
Team Promotion - Relegation
Team Promotion – Relegation
The Series consists of 3 rounds of 5 races. At the end of each round the top 3 Teams will be promoted and the bottom 3 Teams will be relegated, all on the assumption there is more than one Division in the League. Relegation may be adjusted if Teams resign their League place.
Late Join New Teams can join the Series at the end of each round, and will be placed in the lowest Division within the Region and League selected by the Team Manager.
Resignation Teams can resign from the Series at any point, Team Managers are requested to inform Race Control so appropriate adjustments can be made
VADA
VADA Rider Checks
During events riders will produce high performance, it is the responsibility of Race Control to monitor performance and look to maintain a fair racing position across all classes – as this is not just applicable to the highest most powerful riders. We do take this responsibility seriously, we get that we all do this for fun but that doesn’t mean we accept riders who choose the dark side of virtual racing.
Verification will be performed by the FRR vada (FRR Virtual anti doping agency) formed from experienced trusted riders from within the Zwift community who compete and contribute to FRR events.
FRR vada will recommend one of three options to Race Control:
- No action required
- Time sanction
- Event removal/ban
All information submitted will remain confidential and Race Controls decision will be final.
Verification can take place at any point and the process is as follows:
- Race Control contacts riders and Team Manager via email/Discord privately
- Riders may be requested to provide:
- Height and weight video to verify their BIO details
- Zwift setup video including smart trainer, pedals etc..
- Strava and Zwift accounts if private must be granted access to Race Control and .fit files made available for requested events
- Rider may be asked to give their consent to Zwift via email, which Race Control has started, to allow Zwift to confirm to Race Control the Smart Trainer used for the Tour events in question
- Rider photo ID may be requested to further assure the person in a submitted video is the rider with the request
- Riders will be given a suitable amount of time (normally 24 hrs) to review and provide the information requested.
- Riders who fail to cooperate within the time set will have time penalties applied to remove any impact on fellow riders (since we have no ability to prevent a rider from competing) and post Tour excluded from entering future events. We equally notify Zwift.
- FRR Jersey holders will have those Jerseys removed
Support & FAQs
As the Series builds the FAQs will build, this section is split between Team Manager and Rider based questions.
